THE DOCTOR BEHIND XENOVA

40 years building one thing: the ability to solve complex cases.

Dr. Luis González graduated from Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 1987 the country's most selective public university. He went on to complete his orthodontics specialization at Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia around 2000, and by that point had already spent over a decade treating patients in Bogotá and Boyacá.

Rehabilitation and implants came differently. Not through a single university program, but through 25 years of national and international congresses, diplomatic courses, and the kind of daily clinical practice that no classroom can fully replicate. The cases taught him. The difficult ones especially.

Since 2000 he has handled complex orthodontic cases. Since 2010, full mouth rehabilitation and implants became the core of his practice. That is not a short track record it is 15 years of treating cases that other clinics refer out.

Today he works with a team under his direction. He reviews every case before treatment begins, defines the treatment plan, and supervises every step. The team executes. He is accountable for the result.

Universidad Nacional de Colombia

Dentistry · 1987
Colombia's most selective public university. The foundation of a clinical career built on rigorous academic training.

Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia

Orthodontics Specialization · approx. 2000
Board-certified orthodontist. Complex cases from year one.

Rehabilitation and Implants

National and international training · ongoing since 2000
Built through congresses, seminars, and 25 years of daily clinical practice. The hardest cases are the best teachers.

Where he works

Bogotá and Duitama, Boyacá
Two locations. Two clinical rhythms. Bogotá for complex multi-specialist cases. Duitama for quieter recovery and ongoing orthodontic treatment.

PROFESSIONAL TIMELINE

From dental school
to 40 years of difficult cases.

A career built gradually and deliberately not by collecting credentials, but by taking on harder cases each decade.

1987

Dentistry degree · Universidad Nacional de Colombia

Graduates from Colombia's most competitive public university. Begins clinical practice in Bogotá and Boyacá. The foundation is set.

Approx. 2000

Orthodontics specialization · Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia

Board-certified orthodontist. Begins treating complex adult orthodontic cases that require more than standard alignment — cases involving significant bite issues, jaw discrepancies, and treatment planning for future restorative work.

2005

Founds Roxtro — dental radiology and 3D printing center, Boyacá

A turning point. While most dentists were ordering X-rays from third parties, Dr. González built his own radiology and 3D imaging center in Boyacá. Roxtro is still operating today. This decision placed him at the center of the digital diagnostic workflow years before it became standard in Colombian dentistry.

2000 onward

Rehabilitation and implants — congresses, seminars, daily practice

Rehabilitation is not a university specialty in Colombia in the traditional sense. It is built through accumulated clinical experience, national and international training programs, and the cases that push you past what you already know. Dr. González has been doing exactly that for over two decades.

2010 onward

Full mouth rehabilitation and complex implant cases

Complex full mouth cases become the core of the practice. All-on-4, multi-implant rehabilitation, cases referred by other clinics that could not complete the treatment. By this point, the digital workflow from Roxtro is fully integrated into clinical decision-making.

Today

Xerenova — Bogotá and Duitama

The Xerenova platform brings international patients to Bogotá for treatment under Dr. González's protocol. Every case reviewed personally. Written guarantee on every treatment. English documentation for every patient.

ROXTRO · FOUNDED 2005

He didn't just adopt digital dentistry. He built a center for it.

In 2005, while most dentists in Colombia were still ordering analog X-rays from third-party labs, Dr. González founded Roxtro — a dental radiology and 3D printing center based in Boyacá. It has been operating for 20 years and continues today.

That decision matters because it tells you something about how he thinks. Diagnosis is not a formality before treatment. For Dr. González, precise imaging is what makes complex treatment planning possible. CBCT 3D scans, intraoral scanning, digital models — these are tools he has worked with since before they were standard practice in Colombian dentistry.

It also explains the full digital flow at Xerenova. The scanner, the CAD/CAM design, the 3D-printed surgical guides — none of that is new to him. He helped build that infrastructure in Boyacá two decades ago.

That same digital foundation is what makes it possible to use Graphy for orthodontic cases. Graphy is a South Korean clear aligner technology that works differently from Invisalign. While Invisalign uses thermoformed polyurethane trays, Graphy uses a shape memory resin that is printed directly in its final form — no thermoforming, no distortion in the process. The result is a more precise fit and a more consistent force throughout treatment. The material has been cited in over 60 peer-reviewed journals and used in more than 200,000 patients across more than 90 countries. It is a meaningful technical difference for adult orthodontic patients, not a marketing claim.

Roxtro is not mentioned here as a credential. It is mentioned because it explains why the clinical process at Xerenova works the way it does.

THE TECHNOLOGY BEHIND THE TREATMENT

Every tool is verifiable.
None of them are claims.

These are not marketing terms. Each one is a brand or technology with a company website you can visit today, before you book anything. That is what Xerenova means by verifiable.

Zimmer Biomet Implants

NYSE-listed company. The same implant brand used in university dental programs and specialist clinics across the United States. Titanium fixtures with decades of clinical documentation.

CBCT 3D Imaging

Cone beam computed tomography — the imaging standard for complex implant planning. Shows bone volume, nerve position, and anatomical detail that a flat X-ray cannot capture.

Integrated with Roxtro since 2005

3Shape TRIOS Intraoral Scanner

Digital impressions instead of traditional molds. More precise, more comfortable, and directly integrated into the CAD/CAM design process. Optional — available at the clinic if you don't have one.

HOW THE CLINIC WORKS

Dr. González directs.
His team executes.

A clinical team under one specialist's direction is not a compromise it is how serious practices scale without losing quality. Every procedure at Xerenova follows the same protocol, reviewed and approved by Dr. González.

Every case reviewed personally

Before any appointment is confirmed, Dr. González reviews the patient's X-rays, CT scans, and photos. The treatment plan comes from him. The team executes that plan.

Written guarantee on every treatment

The guarantee is signed before treatment begins. Not after. In writing, in English. Your US dentist can review the full documentation.

English coordinator present

Dr. González understands English and can work alongside an interpreter. Every clinical appointment has an English-speaking coordinator present for full communication.

Remote follow-up for 6 months

After you return home, Dr. González and the team are available via WhatsApp for any questions, concerns, or follow-up needs. Your US dentist can also contact the clinic directly.

EVALUATION PROTOCOL

What Dr. González needs
to review your case.

Before any appointment is confirmed, Dr. González reviews the clinical materials personally. This is what he needs to give you an accurate treatment plan and price no surprises after you land.

1

Panoramic X-ray

A full panoramic radiograph of upper and lower teeth. Required. If you don't have a recent one, your local dentist can take one for around $50.

2

Extraoral and intraoral photos

Photos of your face from the front and sides, plus photos of your teeth from the front, sides, and biting position. Required. You can take these yourself with a phone.

3

Upper and lower CT scan

A CBCT 3D scan of both arches. Required for implant and rehabilitation cases. Shows bone volume and anatomy in detail that a flat X-ray cannot.

4

Intraoral scan (optional)

A digital scan of your teeth using a 3Shape TRIOS or similar scanner. Optional — if you don't have one, it can be done at the clinic in Bogotá on your first appointment.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE DOCTOR

Things patients ask
before deciding to travel.

He understands English and can follow a conversation. He is not fully bilingual, but he works alongside an English-speaking coordinator at every clinical appointment. Nothing gets lost in translation — the coordinator is there specifically to make sure of that.

Yes. Once Dr. González reviews your case and sends the treatment plan, a virtual consultation can be arranged via WhatsApp video call with the coordinator translating in real time. You should feel comfortable with the person treating you before you book a flight. That call is part of the process.

Complex implant and rehabilitation cases have been the core of his practice since 2010. That is 15 years of difficult cases — the kind that other clinics refer out. Before that, he spent a decade building expertise in complex orthodontics. The two specialties overlap more than most patients realize: orthodontic positioning before implant placement is often what determines the long-term result.

Every treatment comes with a written guarantee before any procedure begins. If something needs attention after you return, Dr. González and the team are available via WhatsApp. All clinical documentation is in English so your local dentist can review it. If a revision is needed, we coordinate the solution before it becomes a problem.

Roxtro is a dental radiology and 3D printing center in Boyacá that Dr. González founded in 2005. It matters because it tells you something about how he works. He built his own diagnostic infrastructure two decades ago, which means the CBCT imaging, digital scanning, and 3D printing workflow at Xerenova are tools he has worked with since before they became standard. He did not adopt a trend. He was part of building it.
